Alabama has very specific regulations on who can obtain criminal records. Only those who are members of the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center (ABC - Alabama Background Checks) can request records through a third party.  If your business is not a member of this service, then you cannot access these records nor can anyone else on your behalf.  If you are an ABC System Subscriber, then we must have a signed and approved Alabama Background Check (ABC) Criminal Background Check system “Memorandum of Agreement for Third Party Users of the Criminal History Sales System”.  You will need to provide a copy of the waiver signed by the employee or prospective employee on whose behalf the search is conducted, prior to conducting a search; and retain the waivers for employees and prospective employees on the behalf of the Subscriber for a criminal background check via the Alabama Background Check (ABC) Criminal Background Check system for a period of three years. Criminal background checks cannot be provided for applicants of rental properties, loans, mortgages or any other consumer product.

There are three levels of searches we perform, as follows:

BASIC REFERENCE CHECKS

This is a basic verification of any information that has been provided and the thoroughness depends upon how complete the information is any given application, whether it is for a job, rental, no-credit-check purchase, etc.  We will check the validity of information and perform as thorough an investigation as the law allows.  Please note that we cannot perform any verifications on applications that are not signed or do not include a standard disclaimer whereas the applicant agrees to have all information verified. 

Fee: $25.00 per appication.  Volume discounts are available

INTERMEDIATE BACKGROUND CHECK

Identity Verification. Important database searches prove or disproves identity; discovers or confirms "identifiers" like DOB, SSN, and addresses.

This is our most comprehensive search, commonly used by employers where sensitive or "eyes only" material will be accessed, such as company secrets, etc.

  This report searches multiple criminal record sources which includes federal fugitive files, department of correction, inmate search, prison parole and release files, national convicts database, probation records, and possibly records from other state agencies.
• State search includes subject's entire state of residence. Covers a seven year history, both felony and misdemeanor. You get detailed records including state police arrest records, suspended sentences, dismissals, probation, incarceration records and those involved in pre-trial intervention.
• County Criminal Record Search
  Note: Some states impose a surcharge - paid by requestor (You will be notified prior to conducting a search).
• OFAC Database: The Office of Foreign Assets Control, (lists criminals and terrorists around the world).
