REPOSSESSIONS
![]()
We handle repossessions differently that our other services. Our fees for repossessions start with a flat rate and contingent upon the successful completion of the job.

The mission of ADS Investigations is to provide our clients quick, efficient and safe recovery of their assets, while adhering to Federal, State, and Local laws. Although we have the capability to repossess recreational vehicles, motorcycles, watercraft and aircraft, a vast majority of the repossession orders we get are for automobiles.
There are two main reasons why automobiles are repossessed. The most common is owner default. Second to that is what is known as an insurance repossession whereby the owner fails to maintain insurance, particularly collision insurance. In this case, the payments may be completely up to date, but the dealer or finance company has the legal right to repossess the vehicle if so stated in the contract.
We will not, however, break any laws to effect a repossession. We will not break and enter into private property. We will not misrepresent ourselves as law enforcement. We will not misrepresent ourselves as attorneys.
As a general rule, and for obvious reasons, we usually will not handle payments from the customers of our clients. We do not broker payment arrangement between our client and their customer. We are not negotiators. When we are hired to repossess, we do just that and only that. By the time it gets to the repossession stage, chances are pretty good that there were already a multitude of broken promises.
We would prefer from our clients as much information as possible on any case, no matter what genre it is. However, the basics for a repossession include an MVT-15 form from the DMV authorizing ADS Investigations to repossess the vehicle and any information that has been collected on the customer, including copies of all original contracts, applications and other pertinent information.
An extra set of keys would be extremely helpful, and most dealers keep a set for every vehicle they sell.
OUR SERVICE AREA
Our service are is quite extensive, given that most of our clients are local dealers that operate on a "buy here, pay here" basis. We cover Tallapoosa, Coosa, Chambers, Clay, Talladega, Randolph, Elmore, Macon and Lee counties, and the city of Montgomery.
OUR RATES
LOCATING YOUR PROPERTY
ADS Investigations will locate your vehicle for a flat rate of $100.00 if it is found in our service area. If we are required to travel outside of our service area, an adjusted rate will be negotiated prior to accepting the case.
RECOVERING YOUR PROPERTY
Recovery is defined as taking physical possession of the vehicle and returning it to our client. This choice is left to the client for a variety of reasons.
If ADS Investigations recovers the vehicle, there is an additional $100.00 recovery fee, as long as the vehicle is in our service area. If it is outside the service area, an adjusted rate will be negotiated prior to continuing. When we return the vehicle to our client, we consider the case closed and completed.
Many of our clients have a trusted towing company that they are comfortable with and prefer to use for recovery. If this choice is opted for, then the cost of the recovery is between our client and their towing service. The only fees due ADS Investigation is the cost to locate your property. In these instances, we will locate the vehicle, disable it if necessary (without damaging it), and stay on site until the towing company arrives and secures your property. It is at that point that we close the case as completed.
